There's something undeniably enchanting about fall
The crisp air, the golden hues, and the way nature seems to prepare for a long, cozy rest. For many of us, the changing of the seasons is a familiar rhythm, but for some, it's a completely new experience. I recently had the pleasure of capturing a couple's session, where Kae, having grown up in the Philippines, was experiencing her very first fall. The excitement and wonder in her eyes made this session one of the most memorable I've ever had.
Kevin and Kae recently moved into the area, and this was their first autumn together, as husband and wife. Kae always dreamed of experiencing the season she'd only seen in movies and pictures -- where trees burst into vibrant colors, and the world seems to slow down for just a moment. Her husband, who had grown up with the changing seasons, couldn't wait to share this part of his life with her.
The Location: A Golden Wonderland
I chose Parco Villa Varda, located in Brugnera, Pordenone, Italy for its rich autumn foliage. This historic park, surrounding the elegant Villa Varda, transforms into a stunning autumnal wonderland as the season progresses. The park's expansive grounds are covered with rich tapestry of vibrant foliage, with trees turning shades of gold, amber and deep red. The river Livenza, which runs through the park, reflect the warm hues of the trees, adding to the serene atmosphere. As we walked along the paths, Kae couldn't stop smiling and that's when I knew I chose the right location.
Capturing the Joy of Discovery
As a photographer, it's a privilege to witness and capture genuine emotions. The joy on her face as she twirled in a shower of falling leaves was pure and infectious. Her husband watched her with a look of adoration, clearly enjoying her childlike wonder. We spent the afternoon exploring the park, capturing the moments of laughter, playful leaf fights, and quite embraces under the canopy of trees.
A first for everything.
A Season of Love
For this couple, fall wasn't just a new season; it was a new chapter in their lives together. It symbolized growth, change and the beauty of discovering new things side by side. Kae's first autumn experience was more than just witnessing the changing colors - it was about feeling the change, embracing it, and sharing it with the person she loves most.
